Ikkicon and Christmas

Sun Dec 20, 2009, 10:24 PM
Now to get the angst to go away: I will be going to Ikkicon in Austin this new years (yes it is ON new years day and throughout the weekend), what better way to celebrate than go to an anime con and visit me and the other artists? I will have a table that I'm sharing with :iconchrislea: and my friends :iconradiuszero: :iconfuzumi: and :iconangryangryasian: will also be there. Please drop by and visit us, we'd love to see ya'll :D I will have some new badge designs, and new products such as bookmarks, stickers, magnets, and possibly even pillows, along with new cellphone/ds charms.

And I know this is probably insanely late with it being this close to Christmas and all, but I've been late with everything this year, whatever, doing it anyway. I don't expect anything from it anyhow, it's just for fun: A wishlist!

_____

THE BASICS: write a Christmas/Holiday wish list. It can be any 10 wishes you'd like to have granted, no matter what they are. Possible or seemingly impossible. People look and grant the wishes if they can. It's not about "OMFG PRESENTS", it's about making someone else's holiday a little brighter by giving. Personally, I get more out of giving than receiving sometimes. It's just a good feeling to give.

STEP ONE

** Make a post in your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

** If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. In this case, you can always just note someone on dA.

** Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!

STEP TWO

** Surf around your friend list to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

** If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

** You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

NOW LET'S SEE IT!

oh hai there

Thu Dec 17, 2009, 12:33 PM
I'm alive, for the most part. I kinda disappeared there from like...the internet. I've been here, but too worn out to do much of anything on it.

WHAT HAPPENED:

1. My new roommates drove me up the wall. Like to the point I got depressed again and couldn't do my school work, which REALLY didn't help anything. I eventually had to move to another apartment, which meant giving up my cat because EVERYONE AND THEIR MOM WHO LIVES IN AN APARTMENT IS ALLERGIC TO CATS. I figured my sanity was more important than my cat, especially on my last year of school. He's still around, just not here with me, and I get to dump him on my parents soon now (they are not happy, but they just don't know they'll love him yet)

2. This semester was hell, simply put. Five studio classes is a very stupid idea. I had to drop a class two months into it because I was pretty much set to failure unless I pulled all As on everything else (all I can hope to do is pass these days). I enjoyed my classes but god...I couldn't keep up with them becaaausssee:

3. DEHABILITING FREAKISH INSOMNIA GO. Thanks to some weird force, and for the latter half, digis evil ploy to suck away your life that is user events, I had insomnia for a month. Like regularly staying up for two days in a row and then sleeping through class the next day insomnia. You would think staying up all the time would give me more time to get my work down, but most of that time was spent moping, being bored, and being so tired I couldn't look at a computer, but also couldn't sleep. WHICH THEN CAUSED:

4. INABILITY TO STAY AWAKE. Yep. The second I finally was able to get to sleep at night to fight my insomnia, I could not stay awake for more than 8 hours. Then I got eye sensitivity on top of it. This isn't good when your major is completely centered around staring at a computer screen all day (and what is it about Macs that they go on about their energy saving things on their moniters, but then you can't even make the screen that dark? 0% on their moniters is like 60% on mine.)

5. OTHER STUFF I CAN'T MENTION WITHOUT BEING A JERK. Safe to say, when I get any hint of distraction, I can't concentrate for shit, and I'm already bad at time management. urrghh

And that was my life for four months. I really hate college XD I'm not sure how many life lessons I've learned so much as learning that hopefully things can't get much worse. Whoever said college was in any way, shape, or form fun obviously never finished it. IT IS OVER. Hopefully I will be off to a better start next semester, MY LAST ONE WOOOOOOO IT'S ALMOST ALL OVER. less angsty update later today

needs love

:iconcinnamoron: Has really good art but not a lot of attention, go give her a look!

In other news, school has already run me ragged, and I'm only two and a half weeks in. I dislike having five studio classes very much soon. (and then I probably won't even graduate next semester either, stupid). I feel like I can't do anything I want to do without feeling guilty about not doing my schoolwork, but then I'm so tired from the school I just want to relax. But then doing my own stuff doesn't help me relax and I just stay anxious about everything else. Ugh.

I AM GOOD AT IT

THINGS I HAVE FAILED AT:
cooking
washing dishes
art
sleeping
math
applying sculpy glaze
doing what I say I'll do (this includes art, my snail booklet, and my cosplay)
not spending money
making decisions
talking
cake decorating
being awake for my b/fs birthday
writing a reply for my rpg
digis
typing
berry growing on pokemon
remembering to eat

THINGS I HAVE NOT FAILED AT:
making the stupid doors stop squeaking
replanting my cactus
finding more problems with the apartment (why must the AC leak? everytime it does it it sounds like someone is peeing on the floor @_@ )
hiding things from myself and I find them later and wonder when I bought that
getting new fish and keeping them all alive
finding ways to entertain the cat

So yea, that booklet? ain't happening til oni-con (if I get to go which will be WHENEVER THEY PUT OUT INFORMATION JESUS.) I got lazy. But if there's one thing I am finishing it's my special badges and my tentacle monster (rated PG fyi) for san japan @_@ I only have one more day to work on stuff it feels like..besides putting things together at the hotel the night before.

I need questions

Tue Jul 21, 2009, 2:27 PM
I decided I wanted to make a small booklet about my snail characters that would be titled "What's With The Snails?" completely based on a question that often comes up when I go to conventions. So what I need is questions anyone has ever had about why I draw snails, things about the characters themselves, whatever you wonder about them. If I wanna get it done in time I have to start asap since I need to draw pictures for it and everything so anything you ask will help me figure out content :)

What I'm including so far:
origin of why I like snails
supar scary old art of when the snail characters first came up
profiles of the characters (ecru, monty, lex, artes, and the various characters in the world they live in)

thanks to anyone that contributes :)
